The Experience
Some holidays run like clockwork and somehow leave you a little cold; others are a bit chaotic but you don't mind one bit, because everyone around you seems genuinely glad you're there. Zuri Zanzibar is that holiday. It's not a place that runs like a Swiss watch more like a friend who's perpetually fifteen minutes late but always turns up with a genuine smile and a good excuse. So here's what that actually looks like, warts and all.
Kendwa, on Zanzibar's northern tip, is about an hour or so from the airport depending on traffic and how many goats are using the road as a thoroughfare that day. It's not a private island transfer, you're on real roads, past real villages, which I actually rather liked. It sets the tone: this is Zanzibar, not a sanitised approximation of it.
